Beaufort Inshore Charters

On inshore fishing charters, we fish mainly in the protected creeks and backwaters of Beaufort’s barrier islands. These trips are tailored to your skill level; we can stalk wary redfish in skinny water with artificial lures or use live or cut bait to make sure every catches fish. Waters are mainly calm and flat, and we’re usually within a long cast of shore, making these trips a good fit for first-time saltwater anglers. Hard-fighting redfish are the headliners year-round, along with speckled trout, black drum, sheepshead and flounder seasonally. All make excellent table fare. Giant “bull” redfish and tarpon are around during the summer months. Inshore charters can be booked for 3, 4, 6, or 8 hours. Afternoon half-day trips are available too.

Beaufort Nearshore Charters

On nearshore trips, we venture beyond the barrier islands to fish waters roughly 1 to 10 miles out. This zone yields and exciting grab bag of species, including some of the same fish we target inshore — redfish, black drum, tarpon, and sheepshead — mixed with migratory species like cobia, kingfish (aka king mackerel), and Spanish mackerel. Big sheepshead are thick on the nearshore reefs in winter and spring, cobia move through in late spring and summer, and tarpon and bull reds are good in summer and fall. Kings and Spanish mackerel are around spring through fall.

Although we’ll venture beyond the protection of the barrier islands, our nearshore trips are normally in somewhat protected waters and rough conditions are unusual. These trips can be tailored for anybody from first-timers to diehard anglers and can range from 4 to 8 hours in length with afternoon half-days available.

Beaufort Offshore Charters

During an offshore charter, we’ll fish approximately 10 to 40 miles from the coast, pursuing bottom-dwellers like snapper, grouper, and amberjack, as well as migrators like cobia, kingfish, and bonito. On occasion, we’ll also run across some wayward mahi or blackfin tuna in this zone too.

Offshore trips are weather dependent; if conditions aren’t safe for venturing offshore, we’ll fish nearshore or inshore and refund you the difference in price. Generally speaking, seas will be bigger offshore, and the run out to the fishing grounds in the morning may be as long as an hour and a half or so. We encourage anglers to get their feet wet on shorter trips and/or more sheltered waters before committing to an offshore charter.

With the larger distances involved, offshore charters require a minimum of 8 hours, and we limit the number of anglers per boat to 4.

Beaufort Kids & Family Fishing Charters!

Our Kids & Family charters are tailored to budding anglers of all ages! We understand not everyone is a diehard angler. These trips are all about getting out there, bending some rods, and having a ton of fun. If we end up with some great eating fish in the cooler, that’s icing on the cake, but our goal is to keep the kids busy and engaged while parents can sit back, relax, and have the camera ready! You'll find that our team is supremely patient, energetic, and positive.

We fish the same calm, protected, and scenic waters on these trips as on our inshore trips, so motion sickness is virtually never an issue. Common catches include redfish, speckled trout, jack crevalle, black drum, and small sharks (duuuun dun!). As a bonus, we frequently see playful dolphins up close, along with other wildlife including alligators.

We recommend keeping these trips short and sweet — 2 to 3 hours.

Beaufort Gulf stream Charters

New for 2025, Sea Island Adventures is offering charter fishing trips to the deep blue waters of the Gulf Stream to target pelagic gamefish like mahi mahi (dolphin), wahoo, blackfin tuna, sailfish, and marlin. We are also one of the only South Carolina charters to offer daytime swordfishing.

These trips are with Capt. Jackson Davis about a fully rigged 28’ McKee Craft powered by twin Yamaha outboards. They are 12-hour journeys out to sea that are best suited for anglers in reasonably good physical condition with some prior offshore experience. Be prepared for spectacular seascapes, heart-pounding action, and sore arms.

Beaufort Shark Fishing Charters

To anglers targeting certain other species, sharks can become a nuisance. But to those who have never seen one up close, a drag peeling battle with a shark is a memory they won’t soon forget. In our waters, sharks are plentiful, cooperative, and always ready for a fight. They range from small bonnethead sharks — which look like baby hammerheads and are generally about 3 feet long — to bruisers like blacktips, lemon sharks, and bull sharks.

We target these gamesters in our protected inshore waters during 4-hour afternoon trips. That makes shark charters a great choice for kids and novices — the trips are relatively short, the waters are calm, you don’t have to wake up early, and you’re almost certain to hook something that will make your drag scream.
